1. Looked downstairs to see the girls with their arms around each other. 2. Trying to get in less sugar and less gluten, both of which seem to have bothered me more over the past few months. 3. Lovely skies around here, but getting darker so much earlier. 4. The girls have been spending hours lost in their own little worlds, with long conversations between their imaginary friends and animals. 5. These are the precious, ordinary moments from which our “good old days” memories are formed. Trying to hold on to these times. 6. Plates. My grandmother had this pattern, and now I have these on my wall. So many memories of staring into these plates, imagining scenes as we spent meals gathered around her table. 7. Watching his sister build her little worlds. (So funny–he’ll try to scoot towards Hana Kate or Eden if he sees them playing.) 8. iPhone photography, through the eyes of Hana Kate.
1. We went to High Cotton for my birthday lunch celebration. The girls spent the long minutes waiting for food by coloring up a storm. 2. Family together. 3. My sister’s super cool gift and card! Grateful to have spent this birthday with her. 4. Justus found his toes this weekend. We spent much of the day in the car, and when I used my lap to change his diaper on, he giggled at the discovery of his toes. 5. I had a leftover voucher to use at Mellow Mushroom, so we used it this weekend. We got to eat outside at this restaurant, which made it fun. 6. Found some John Piper at a neighbor’s yard sale. 7. I took Justus along as my yard sale buddy. He did so well, and I think he helped me find some good deals. 8. Spending some special moments with the grandparents before they headed out for several weeks of traveling.
1. Hands and feet. 2. Birthday supper celebration: Gigi’s cupcakes, card from HK (and Daddy and Eden), and our smoothie supper–Daniel had to work late, and we were still full from our big lunch, so these were great. 3. Exploring downtown Greenville. 4. The special tent! 5. Hana Kate jumping on a soggy mat. 6. Justus’s special presents: lots of snuggles. 7. More of our birthday lunch. (They have a adult-foods “kids meal” option, and this is only half of it–we split between the girls. Sauteed beans, french fries, and grilled chicken. Can’t beat that at Chick-Fil-A for cost or nutrition.) Pretty sure Eden would have eaten all my cheesy grits if she didn’t have this. 8. Justus is entertaining to sit across from.
