Our little guy is still growing, and apparently did some extra growing this week, as most of his under-6-months sized clothes are now too small. 🙁 (Part of this is likely from his cloth diapers–they do make it a little bulkier.)
On the day he turned 5 weeks, he weighed 13lbs., 8 oz., and was 24 inches long.
He’s lost most of his hair and is still enduring baby acne, and is looking like a very different baby than what he looked like just five weeks ago.
He’s starting to smile and coo a lot more, and we are absolutely loving that. He’s even had a sort of mini-laugh, both times at Eden.
Justus has developed one super circadian rhythm, that is for sure! Right around 9p.m. to 9:30p.m., he is ready to go down for the night. Usually he just rests on my chest, and as the sun sets he drifts of to sleep. This is such a treasured time for me–I’ve found it is a wonderful time to spend praying over him and our girls. Then, once the light begins to come in the room he usually starts to wake for his day. (He definitely still eats at night, but having him sleep with us I can’t always even remember when or how many times he’s grunted to let me know he’s hungry. 🙂 Very thankful to have made it to a month without him crying at night, though that’s not to say I’m not tired. But with two girls who only do rest time, it’s a little more challenging for me to get in a nap during the day, so I’m thankful for a fairly well-rested first five weeks.) Daytime rhythms are a little more challenging right now, and Justus is getting his digestive system aligned with my milk supply, espsecially dealing with hyperlactation. (And I’m also realizing how loud his older sisters are during the day!) I also think my arms are finally catching up to holding 13 pounds of baby.
