Eden started walking tonight!
She’s been willing to take a few steps here and there for a little while, but has been too cautious to do any more.
Tonight, I stood her up and said, “Come to Mommy!” She got the biggest grin on her face, and then walked to me in 4 steps. Then, she walked to Daddy with even more. Then she even took a few turns while she was walking. When Hana Kate started walking, she didn’t really notice. She just started walking; to her, she was getting around and just happened to be walking in order to do it. But Eden was very calculated and precise. It was a much more dramatic moment. And 10 minutes later she was asleep in our bed: guess that wore her out!
We had a walker at 10 months, and now a walker at 12 months, 2 days shy of 13 months. We are just as proud of both of them. Be proud of your kids reaching milestones, no matter how long or how quickly they take to get to them.
And another Hana Kate quote. Yesterday, we went out to the van. It was freeeeezing cold out, but the sun was shining brightly.
I asked her if she felt cold, and she filled me in on her observation: “Mommy, the sun is beating down upon the van and getting it warmer!”
Me: I started laughing immediately, and said, “Wow! How did you know to say it that way?”
Hana Kate: “Is it really funny, Mommy?” sounding a little confused. 🙂.
