Knee-High by the Fourth of…September!

September 4, 2008

Well, our second garden of the season is going much better than our first attempt.  Yay.

There are over 15 little tomatoes on their way, and lots of flowers indicate there will be more.  (We had tomatoes through January 1 last year!)  We finally broke down and bought tomato cages.  With part of our gift card from Home Depot, of course. 🙂  Otherwise our tomato plants would have broken down.

The corn is actually about waist-high, so we’ll see how well it fares.

And our one little bean plant is giving us some beans and has several more flowers.

Apparently the ants living near the garden didn’t get the memo that they’re only supposed to bite me on Tuesdays.  Gratefully, only 2 bites were sustained during this photo shoot.  The ants didn’t fare as well. 🙂

I’ve been reading this blog for a little while and am impressed at all that you seem to get done! I’m trying hard to keep a better daily schedule, but cleaning and cooking seem to take all my time! I wish I had time to coupon, garden, do more with my children (sing with them, take them to the park), as well as try to make a little money on the side, but I can’t seem to get my life straight. Any help would be much appreciated! It seems like you are very disciplined. Would you be willing to give an example schedule of your day? That would help me the best.
