Some Coupons You May Want to Collect

August 6, 2008

All You magazine is only $1.77 at Wal*Mart; page 159 of the August 29, Volume 8 issue of All You magazine (pictured above) has the following coupons:

  • Free box Wheat Thins (up to $4.50) with purchase of (3) Kraft, Nabisco, or Oscar Meyer products
  • Free 16oz bottle Kraft dressing (up to $3.20) with purchase of (3) Kraft, Nabisco, or Oscar Meyer products
  • Free Oscar Meyer hot dogs (up to $4.51)with purchase of (3) Kraft, Nabisco, or Oscar Meyer products
  • Free Crystal Light (up to $4.50) with purchase of (3) Kraft, Nabisco, or Oscar Meyer product
  • Free Kraft Cheese singles (up to $4.00) with purchase of (3) Kraft, Nabisco, or Oscar Meyer product
(More fine print on coupons)

Kool-Aid is a Kraft product, and the packets where you must add sugar are not single serve items. So, from $.30 to $.60, you can pick each of the “WYB 3” items…if you don’t have other coupons…

However, the value of these coupons really comes when I can use them with a  $/$$ coupon.  Since our Publix accepts competitor’s coupons, I was able to use a Walgreen’s $5 off $20 coupon a week ago back to get overage to cover the Kool-Aid cost and buy some fresh and frozen produce, as well. I purchased several magazines, and since these coupons don’t expire until 9/30, I’ll save them for opportunities when I can use a $/$$ coupon (and hope for one as good as the $5 off $20!).  (There is currently a $2 off $10 CVS coupon if your grocery stores accept it as a competitor’s coupon.)

With the Walgreens $5 off $20, I was able to do 2 transactions, and my total for both purchases came to $3.79.  Not bad, for all this:

Around $50 worth for under $5

Around $50 worth for under $5

*There is a tearpad coupon (I found one at Wal*Mart) for buy 2 Kraft Salad dressings, get $1.00 off of produce.  I was able to use this, as well by using 2 salad dressing coupons in one transaction. *

Additional note:  As you may be able to tell by the magazine title, it’s not something I would purchase for the magazine’s content; also, if you have men in your home (or are a man who clips coupons! 🙂 ), you will probably want to rip off the back cover before taking it home.

Hi Keren. You may not know me, but I think we were at BJ at the same time. You were a hall leader, right? I knew your husband back in Elementary school (4th grade) when he came back to the States with his family for furlough. Anyway, I found your blog through someone else’s (I can’t remember who’s right now) and I just wanted to tell you I’ve enjoyed reading your posts on saving money and also on your desire to serve in missions one day. Keep up the writing!

Christa, Yep, I was a hall leader my Senior year. I do remember you–I believe you went to Daniel’s grandfather’s church (Fellowship)? Thanks for the encouragement! 🙂 I just subscribed to your feed!
