From Our Porch

July 11, 2008

Remember our Independence Day project of putting in a new pathway?  Well, here’s the result:

Andrew working on the path

Andrew pouring the sand–he’s our forced labor around here. 😉

Andrew and Daniel chiseling a piece

The finished product by night…

And by day…(I need to get a better picture)

Whenever we have a free evening, we love sitting in the rocking chairs on our porch.  Last night we sat, Daniel played the guitar, and we sang a few hymns.  Told ya we were hillbillies.  But it does give us good opportunities to talk to passersby.

I’m so thankful to have a walkway that is keeping the red clay from coming into the house as quickly!   I still have to finish brushing the coating on, but it’s basically done.  I’m also so thankful for such a hard-workin’ husband!

Oh, and check out that green grass (well, at least where there is grass). God answered our prayers for rain!

This post is dedicated to my friend Marcia who thinks this poor old blog was neglected this week. 😛  Stay tuned–I hope to share a special Taco Bell deal that amounts to lots of food if you live in Greenville. 🙂  And maybe once I have time to sit down for a little longer, I’ll do more than just post deals and pictures. Maybe.

Love the walkway and can’t wait to hear about the Taco Bell deals. We love great deals and Taco Bell. Look forward to hearing about it. I may steal your idea for the walkway. Where did you purchase the pavers for this project? We are trying to decide what we want and I think these look great.

It looks like Daniel and Andrew did a good job.
