Cades Cove

April 20, 2008

We were honored to be the guests of the Chinn family (along with Daniel’s parents and 2 brothers) for a Saturday excursion to Cades Cove. We loaded up a 15-passenger van early Saturday morning and headed to the mountains of Tennessee! God was gracious to allow the weather to clear up for the latter half of the day, and we had a wonderful time of fellowship and sightseeing together. (See “read more” for pictures.)

Hana Kate loved looking out the window on the way up, while the rest of us enjoyed singing, talking, sleeping, and reading! (Sorry for posting another video–it’s one of my favorites!)

Picnic–still a little chilly!

We enjoyed seeing some of the old churches. One of the churches had a piano, so we grabbed our hymnbooks and did some good ole’ fashioned singing! Andrew even gave his challenge on God’s grace in one of the old churches.  (For my mom–check out what the tombstones say!)

We also enjoyed seeing some of the old cabins,

And God’s amazing creation! (That includes my husband. Of course. 😉 )

Before heading back, we enjoyed some watermelon seed-spittin’!

And I couldn’t recap our trip without showing this…the place where Bob visited. 🙂

Cades Cove is an interesting place. We took a trip there in 2006. My husband enjoyed giving his best preacher poses in one of the old churches. We even had to get a picture for his aunt and grandma that still hope he will preach full-time.

We Love Cades Cove! Thanks for posting pictures of your visit. When I lived in East Tennessee, we were just a few minutes from the Cove and it was one of my favorite places to spend time.

Makes me very homesick for my Tennessee Home!
